Korea/USA 2013, 30 min, OV

The death of a whale is juxtaposed with the high-tech work processes in Korea’s heavy industry—a world in which human labour is increasingly disappearing behind the colossuses of the ship building industry and huge steel works. What will follow this agony of man and nature? A filmic collage on the history of modernity in Korea and the search for the beginnings of a postindustrial age.
Shown at: Berlinale, MOMA Documentary Fortnight.
