When asked about what kind of reader was his ideal reader, James Joyce responded: "that ideal reader suffering from an ideal insomnia: all those red raddled obeli cayennepeppercast over the text, calling unnecessary attention to errors, omissions, repetitions and misalignments: (FW, 120.9-16)". Reading as action, a dangerous, subversive, collective, and time-suspending enterprise. A collective reading of Finnegans Wake.

Dora García, artist, Brussels/ Barcelona, studied fine art in Salamanca and Amsterdam. She has participated in numerous international exhibitions for contemporary art, including Documenta 2012 and the Venice Biennale 2011 and 2013, where she presented her most recent and best-known film project The Joycean Society, about a James Joyes reading group in Zurich. García uses her art and the exhibition space as a platform for exploring the relationship between the observer, the work, and the location, often with performative and interactive elements and an intense engagement with the aspect of language. The visitors to her installations thus become (un) conscious protagonists of her works.
