Burning Spear, Jacob Miller, Gregory Isaacs - they all make an appearance in "Rockers." And the starring role is played by reggae drummer Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace. In this portrait of Rastafari culture, we have a brilliant ensemble of Jamaican musicians: Horse Mouth lives with his family in the Kingston ghetto trying to support himself and his band by selling records. When gangsters and the studio mafia stop him, his men strike back like Robin Hood’s merry men. The robbed musician robs the robbers. "Rockers" is considered the legitimate successor to "The Harder They Come."
