Post Colonial Aesthetics

Film Festival

The age of schematic oppositions is past: new cinematic languages, better production facilities, digital technologies – African Cinema has emancipated itself and diversified. Anti-imperialist rhetoric is just as passé as Socialist Realism. Often parodistic, and showing quite a cannibalistic attitude towards traditional aesthetics at times; film consciously blurs the boundaries between genres and identities.
