Bill Sherman

Bill Sherman is Director of the Warburg Institute and Professor of Cultural History at the University of London's School of Advanced Study. He was Director of Research and Collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Sherman's research has been driven by a love of archives and collections. He is best known for his work on the history of books and readers, marginalia and libraries. His most recent book is Hollywood Arensberg: Avant-Garde Collecting in Mid-Century LA (2020), co-authored with Mark Nelson and Ellen Hoobler.
