Jon Solomon

Jon Solomon is a professor in the Department of Chinese at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University and a research director at the CRPM, a multilingual multidisciplinary research center at the University Paris Nanterre. He specializes in a critique of area studies from the perspective of translation theory with particular attention to sinophone cultures. He published A Genealogy of the Defeat of the Left: Translation, Transition, and Bordering in the Hong Kong Protest Movement of 2019 (2022, in Chinese).
