Robin D. G. Kelley
Robin D. G. Kelley is professor of U.S. History at the University of California, Los Angeles. His work explores the history of social movements in the U.S., the African diaspora, surrealism and marxism. His books include the award-winning Thelonious Monk: The Life and Times of an American Original (2009) and Freedom Dreams: The Black Radical Imagination (2002). His essays have appeared in publications such as The New York Times and Boston Review, for which he also serves as Contributing Editor.
