Ruth Okediji
Ruth Okediji is the Jeremiah Smith Jr. Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and the co-director of Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. She is a foremost authority on the political economy of global copyright law, notably on the design and implementation of intellectual property norms to promote access to knowledge and human development. Okediji advises governments on a variety of issues in copyright law and is currently helping to shape global policy agendas on challenges at the intersection of copyright, big data, AI and human welfare. Her recent publications include Copyright Law in a Global Information Economy (2019) and Copyright Law in an Age of Limitations and Exceptions (2017), her book on Traditional Knowledge is forthcoming in 2020. She currently serves on the boards of Creative Commons and the Journal of World Intellectual Property Law.
