Tia-Simone Gardner

Tia-Simone Gardner is an artist, educator and Black feminist scholar whose practice is grounded in interdisciplinary strategies that activate ideas of ritual, iconoclasm and geography. She is currently working on a project that juxtaposes questions of biopolitics, Black Southern familial memory and geology with vignettes of extractive capitalism. Her installation and performance piece Un-Vessel is the second iteration of a floating camera obscura, the first created for CounterCurrent in 2019.
