Emilie Carreón

Emilie Carreón is professor and researcher at Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and investigates American Indigenous Art. She has published on the ritual use of tar and rubber, and on the Mesoamerican ballgame, specifically surrounding its relationship with human sacrifice. More recently focused on the representation of Ancient Mexico in playthings, with Linda Báez Rubí she studies New Spanish folding screens and the creative process in sixteenth century artistic production.
