Ulrich Baer

Ulrich Baer is a literary scholar, publicist, translator and professor of German and comparative literature and teaches photography at New York University. He focuses on literary theory, poetry, photography and cultural policy issues such as social justice and dealing with trauma and freedom of expression. His publications include Niemand zeugt für den Zeugen. Erinnerungskultur und historische Verantwortung nach der Shoah (ed., 2000), Spectral Evidence: The Photography of Trauma (2005) and Fictions of America: The Book of Firsts (2020).
