Aleida Assmann

Aleida Assmann is an English scholar, Egyptologist, and scholar of literature and culture. Until 2014, she was Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Konstanz. In 2018, she received the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. Her publications include Human Rights and Human Duties. Key Terms for a Compassionate Society (2018) and Die Wiedererfindung der Nation (2020), a treatise on the concept of nation in Germany.
