A room of one's own

Youth programme

Workshops with artists of comic strips, as well as installation and multimedia artists from Indonesia and Thailand will present opportunities for creative co-operation between youths and Southeast Asian artists.

Parts of the Youth Programme are taking place in several in several districts of Berlin before the actual start of the project "Spaces and Shadows".

Just as the artists’ work aims to encourage social change and communication, the Youth Programme deals with realities and hardships in Berlin. It aims to create free spaces under the title “A Room of Your Own”. There will also be info-days at schools on Gamelan and visits to concerts, Halloween with horror films and a “U25” day for visitors under 25 with a performance by “Kill Your Television” Singapore. Programme accompanied by talks on communicating non-European art and on the social relevance of artistic strategies.
