“Earthly ethics or earthlings’ ethics?”, as philosopher Zev Trachtenberg begins this discussion about ethics in the Anthropocene. Who is intended by this “we,” as climate researcher Will Steffen continues? What could an “earthly ethics” look like? What about an ethics of the swarm? Or an ethics of things? A discussion to mark the conclusion of the Anthropocene Campus, led by Ashkan Sepahvand, HKW.

Zev Trachtenberg teaches philosophy at the University of Oklahoma. Will Steffen teaches at the Fenner School of Environment and Society at Australian National University (ANU) Climate Change Institute and is currently researching at Stockholm Resilience Centre. Philipp Oswalt is an architect and journalist and teaches theory and design at Universität Kassel.
