What I am about to say may be ingenuous as I don't know much about computers, but, I was wondering when we can see a future time when computers will be placed in public places for general public access in the same manner as are telephones, (ie. a computer affixed to a private booth accessible via coins entered in accordance with the amount of time usage needed. Can't the internet be made accessible to many more people in this way? People who can't afford their own computer could use the public ones, that is, pay to send/receive information on an as needed basis and within their budget constraints(by manageing the amount of time they spend on line.) I could imagine this method being very effective in remote locations. I don't know it this is possible or not , but it's a thought.
