Tom, All,

About receiving a computer and a printer free of charge, you can solicit
donations from big Companies, but if you do it individually, there are
very few chances you get any response. If you find an "institution", let
us say an art school, an association, and you request in the name of a
group,  you have more chances. Some computers are out of line but still
very operational. Why not create a DIGITAL ART COURSE and request
computers from Compaq or whatever... The artworks would mention the name
of the donors, it is publicity in exchange of hardware and software.

It worked for the Friends of the Hong Kong Museum of Art...
