The differences are many and if you know of studies done in the US as long ago as the early 70's, you will know that non-verbal communication provides an huge additional component of information to any verbal message. Much of that non-verbal information is culturally encoded....so I would have thought it would be of great interest to you. The "result" of course...is what you make of the information you get. Secondly : from your most recent message 19/12 (see attached) regarding ; "Art as a myth kept un-understandable".... It must remain that to be art. It is essential for art to be mysterious. Only then is it fascinating/compelling and not just entertaining And I agree completely with the last part : "When an artist or intellectual grows beyond the game of the lie they become mystics." Do you know the work of Stanislas Klossowski de Rola,'The Golden Game'? He is the son of the painter Balthus. Both seem to be interested in "the game of the lie". Games and lies are ways of manipulating 'reality' that artists need to find paths beyond..for example, beyond the old Euro-centric surrealist games you mention. Duchamp and his disciples have had their 'five memorable minutes' don't you think?. de Rola's long years in Sri Lanka and his explorations of the 'game of alchemy' may provide more fruitful paths for artists of today. As for "cruxifixion is their reward"........that depends on where and how they play their games. ('Passing GO to collect 200' may not be enough for some of us.I wish you could see the playful, non-verbal smile attached to that.)
