"Worldprocessor" is part of three projects that are a central point in his work and are constantly developing, such as "Refugee Republic" 1995 http://www.republik.com, a project that mainly takes shape on the internet. It attempts to create a supranational and -territorial model state that draws attention to the issue of refugees and statelessness. What started as a art-project may become real in the future! "100 Globes" -the world imagined in facts: statistic facts of the international community poor/rich; war/peace; underdevelopment/technoculture; ecology/pollution; hunger/ overconsumption http://wwwworldprocessor.com http://www.stroom.nl I am sure you will find his work very interesting and 'quite fitting' the objectives of our interesting forum. I hope some interesting contacts and collaborations will evolve! -----Original Message----- From: i-gun@refugee.net [mailto:i-gun@refugee.net] Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 1999 02:21 To: Robert Schilder Subject: Re: FW: [forum1] Re: Conference: Culture Counts Dear Robert, Thank you very much!! I'll check their site... You are helping my reason d' etre... Thanks! All the best, Ingo PS - We are thinking about a Refugee Store and a Refugee TV Channel. A US based DBS channel will become available soon we were offered a slot. Not clear yet how to tie that all in - but the first Refugee Store may actually be in Den Haag if Stroom (counsil's Art Foundation ed.) plays ball. It may be something like a travel agency with a Refugee info center and refugee made and tested items.. and with artworks from people like Lucy Orta and Krysztof Wodicko etc.. >Ingo, >We spoke shortly at your opening in "Stroom" about the 'Universe' >mailing-list and website. >Because their contacts are really global, it could be of some interest for >you.
