Our education, our language comes from mass media context that includes propaganda and political demagogy. Is the usage of one language and not the other censorship? The choosing of something by itself censors something else? Are museums today the keepers of very sophisticated and elegant handicrafts? Is a curator by definition an examiner, a guardian of art, a supervisor of communication? Is communication for the masses always necessarily vulgar? Or the perfect democracy tends towards a constant loss of quality or maybe the focus should be in the usage of power within a position within an institution. We are addressing an artist as handicapped, and then a minority artist as even more handicapped. Does an artist need to be in a museum to be an artist? We fail to distinguish between a good painter and an artist, today's culture is all about marketing and a museum is part of that marketing scheme (the perfect accomplice). In a very simple way to put it : The artist of today is the one who knows how to write proposals for grants. Partially has to do with having a financing engineer as strategist. Success has little to do with quality. A store that carries Coke should also carry Pepsi? "The environment as a processor of information is propaganda. Propaganda ends where dialogue begins. You must talk to the media not to the programmer. To talk to the programmer is like complaining to a hot dog vendor at a ballpark about how badly your favorite team is playing."
