Anyone outside the loop is always navigating in other reference points. When you see the early movies of Ingmar Bergman the form of codifying is the same but the obsesion changed. Until you get to Fanny and Alexander when he puts together a whole codification of early experimentation in order to come out with his own message. When we speak of "different" interpretation we are making a cover up for "misinterpretation". Different interpretation has to do with the phenomenon of resonance that poetry and only poetry is able to come up (Poetry is not a puzzle). Misinterpretation is when there is the ignorance of the codes or the imposibility of feel (due to blindness or noise) . In both cases to the voyeur with little experience it is as unable to understand one or the other. Because the esencial reference point is the fact that should be ununderstandable in order to be poetry. I was mentioning Art history versus art because the contemporary vision of an artist is not the same as it was in the times of Leonardo. Leonardo was in charge sometimes of organizing the banquet. The social context of today's flood of information makes the "real" artist be a diametrical opposite of the luxury that Leonardo used to be for Ludovico de Sforza. And for some reason we try to trace a coherent line when we are sitting watching a different movie. It is amazing the lack of understanding of essential principles of Dada (1913) or Surrealism (let us not mention more complex tendencies of today's art) even by curators and scholars. It is important to point out that in most cases in the Dada they were no even artists the ones who formed the movement . From that moment onwards the semiotics of visual narrative is essential in order not to rediscover things that were already discovered or to avoid the imitation that the parrot so easily learns. A lot of art today in the test of time will actually be handicrafts of the XX century. In the future in a flood of parrot communication the learning of the correct semantics and the correct codes will be even harder talking about the message instead of the medium. The more flood of garbage the more elitist will become the keepers of the codes.
