Dear Karin:

In this part of Mexico, where I am doing an art is residency, the story of 
La Llorona is quite different.
According to some of my friends, La Llorana lived around Central Mexico 
(Guanajuato/Mexico DF). This area used to be know as New Spain. The 
conquistadores killed all of her children and then she committed suicide. 
After that she appears almost every night crying for her lost children. She 
has been portrayed with a white dress, baggy eyes from crying and long hair.
