I am a communications, advertising and marketing consultant to several transnational companies. Also I am a commercial and art photographer and an interdisciplinary artist. In my experience, Art is not art for the buyer, a lot of artists make the mistake of defining art as itself. It is not. Art for the people that can afford it can be an investment, a hobby with its own reference frames. Art can be a very sophisticated piece of decoration to an architect. It is an status symbol or a snobish present for someone very important. If it has a bow it is a Christmas present. It is essential to realize that the market of art is such, before it is art. Its reference frame is what is important. Even though it sounds too plain. Once you realize the marketing strategy, on itself will give you a language to develop within those limitations. regards Juan ---------- >From: Donna Hand-Lee >Subject: [forum1] Re: And she drinks blood... >Date: mart., 26 octu 1999 22:24 > Juan thanks for your valuable comments in regard to Art and Marketing a > product.
