Greetings from Hamburg, Germany Hans Braumźller http://www.crosses.net your cross in the net CONVOCATORIA INTERNACIONAL DE ARTE CORREO INTERNATIONAL MAIL ART CALL A// ESPA„OL B// ENGLISH ----------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- A// PROYECTO 2000 PARA LA SUSPENSION DE LA PENA DE MUERTE "POR UN MILENIO DE VIDA: NO A LA PENA DE MUERTE" CONVOCATORIA DE MAIL ART ORGANIZADA POR AMNISTIA INTERNACIONAL Y AUMA Con motivo de la campa–a mundial contra la pena de muerte organizada por Amnist’a Internacional y que se prolongar‡ hasta mediados del a–o 2000, el grupo de Tarragona de esta organizaci—n pro-Derechos Humanos, ha tomado la iniciativa de trabajar conjuntamente con el colectivo AUMA (Acci—n Urgente de Mail Art) en la organizaci—n de una convocatoria de Mail Art en favor de los postulados mencionados. Aunque en 1997 la Comisi—n de Derechos Humanos de la ONU adopt— una resoluci—n animando a los Estados que aśn no han abolido la pena de muerte a considerar la posibilidad de su abolici—n, Amnist’a Internacional pretende con esta campa–a presionar a la ONU a que sea m‡s contundente en este sentido; al mismo tiempo que pedir‡ a los paises que siguen llevando a cabo ejecuciones que suspendan dicha pr‡ctica. Adem‡s se rogar‡ a los pa’ses que aśn no lo han hecho que ratifiquen los tratados abolicionistas y que proclamen la abolici—n en sus constituciones. BASES DE LA CONVOCATORIA Organiza: Amnist’a Internacional Tarragona y AUMA -Tema: Contra la pena de muerte en el 2000 -Fecha l’mite de recepci—n de obras: 15 de Marzo del 2000 -No abr‡ censura ni selecci—n de obras -Todas las obras ser‡n expuestas -Se admitir‡n todas las t=E9cnicas -Se enviar‡ documentaci—n a todos los participantes -Se ruega a todo receptor de esta convocatoria que difunda la misma -Las obras no ser‡n devueltas y los autores de las mismas ceder‡n todos los derechos de las mismas (excepto su comercializaci—n) a Amnistia Internacional con la finalidad de divulgar los objetivos de la campa–a. Esta previsto que tr‡s la exposici—n en Tarragona, coinciendo con el final de la campa–a, la obras sean remitidas a: Gobiernos, Embajadas, medios de comunicaci—n y sedes de Amnist’a Internacional de aquellos lugares en que aśn no se haya abolido la pena de muerte. Y en este sentido, se organizar‡ un sistema que permita a los visitantes a la exposici—n elegir la obra y el lugar donde desea enviar una determinada obra, contribuyendo a su franqueo. Para que este trabajo pueda ser efectivo, la dimensi—n m‡xima de las obras deber‡ ser de A4 (29,7cm. x 21 cm.) y śnicamente bidimensionales. Las obras deber‡n ser enviadas a: Amnist’a Internacional / AUMA Apartado 256 43080 Tarragona Espa–a COPY AND PASS ---------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- B// PROJECT 2000 FOR THE STOPPING OF DEATH PENALTY "FOR A MILLENIUM OF LIFE: NOT TO DEATH PENALTY" MAIL ART CALL ORGANIZED BY AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL AND AUMA In the occasion of the world-wide campaign against death penalty organized by Amnesty International wich will extend until halfway through the year 2000, the group of Tarragona of this organization in favour of human rights, it has taken the initiative to work jointly with the group AUMA (Urgent Action of Mail Art) in the organization of a Mail Art exhibition supporting the mentioned postulates. Although in 1997 the Human Rights Commission of the UN pass a resolution to encourage to the States wich have not abolished yet the death penalty to consider the possibility of their abolition, Amnesty International tries with this campaign to press the UN to be more forceful in this sense. At the same time, it will be requested to the countries wich continue carrying out executions to suspend this practice. In addition, it will be requested to the countries wich have not ratified the treaties to do it and to proclaim the abolition in their constitutions. BASIS OF THE CALL Organize: Amnesty International / Tarragona and AUMA Subject: Against death penalty in the year 2000. Deadline: March, 15 of the year 2000 Max. format: Din-A4 (29,7cm. x 21 cm) No selection - All works will be exposed - all the techniques will be admitted It will be sent documentation to all the participants. The organization reserves the right of reproducing, without responsabilities of rights, the received works with the purpose of disclosing the campaign objectives, always referring the author's name and without any commercial purposes. After the exhibition in Tarragona, agreeing with the purposes of the campaign, the works will be sent to Governments, Embassies, mass media and the headquarters of Amnesty International of those places in which death penalty has been not abolished yet. In this sense, a system will be organized to allow to the visitors of the show to choose the place where they wishes to send a certain work, contributing to its postage. For this reason, Max. format of works will be Din-A4 (29,7cm. x 21 cm.) and only bidimentions.
