Hi. Christy is quite right. There are abundant opportunities on the Net to self-learn, or at least get an idea of what a particular software is about. For Chris Drew, I'd recommend http://www.artswire.org/ At this URL , you'll find Spiderschool, which will help you get some understanding of this often confusing cyberworld. It is understandable if one feels overwhelmed at times. I say this from personal experience. Here one finds there is new software coming out by the minute; it is not easy keeping pace, but I've also found one need not rush about breathlessly either. Just stick to one or two programs relevant to you, and give yourself 6 months to know what it's about. I'm also told the US public libraries offer free Internet access, and the speeds are astonishing. So go for it! > You might be surprised by how many of us took this up when we were > "mature"! I too like most of you take my creating part seriously; but as far as the business/ marketing part of it goes, Juan's recommendation of having a sense of humour would certainly help. As one sees and hears more about the folks in the artworld, galleries and dealers ( we can't forget Sensations while we are at this), one realises there are not many objective yardsticks out there. Humour and persistence will help us artists get over many rejections from these gurus of today's art world. Best. -Anjali >
