There are of course a million other factors that will determine the success of the business. In many cases, where it is believed that the web is available to a very few, the problem lies with those people not willing to unlearn old methods, and pick up new ones. I feel this is the problem area for the artists that Chris Drew mentions in today's post ( Pl. correct me if I am wrong on this.) As far as I can see, there are really no financial or infrastructural problems which prevent these artists of Chicago from benefitting from the Web. Similar is the case in India, too, where artists who have been working in the traditional manner are not willing to try out the new. In fact, some of the older ones actually think it some kind of artistic compromise to create using new technologies.
