Forum "Cultural Exchange via Internet" starts NOW
-------------------------------------------------
Hello and welcome,
Now starts the debate of the forum "Cultural Exchange via Internet -
Opportunities and Strategies," organized by the House of World Cultures
in Berlin.
Thank you very much for joining us. As you know, the forum is focused on
the opportunities that Internet use can provide the cultural exchange
with and between Africa, Asia/Pacific and Latin America. It is not only
the theoretical aspects of this topic that should be addressed, but the
practical experiences from one's own work should also be included in the
discussion. We are very much looking forward to your participation.
Discussion entries cannot be translated. Therefore, the debate will be
in English. We understand that this is a great limitation for all of
those who are not from the English-speaking world. However, every Monday
beginning October 19, we will publish a summary of the last week's
discussion in English, German and Spanish.
A few questions for the debate have been posed as points of departure.
You can find them at the forum's website (in English, German and
Spanish)
http://www.hkw.de/forum/forum1/english.html
In addition, you can request the information in the three languages via
email. Please send a message to:
forum1-info@hkw.kbx.de
and write in the "Subject" field:
get theme-en (for the Englisch version)
get thema-de (for the German version)
get tema-es (for the Spanish version)
You will receive 10 introductory statements. These are also published on
the website in German, English, and Spanish or can be retrieved via
email.
To get a complete list of all available documents, send an mail to
forum1-info@hkw.kbx.de
and write as "Subject" one of the following:

For the discussion we are using the mailing list software Lyris, with
which almost all options are available both through a web interface and
at the level of email (read and create messages, edit or change your
membership settings, search for messages and for words in the existing
messages, etc.)
This is the URL to enter the Web Interface:
