The artist and scholar of art and cultural issues has authored and edited several books and exhibition catalogues on phenomena of border arts, and now teaches at the Institute of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin.4:30 p.m.: The Border from the Perspective of Chicana/os. Lecture by Norma Klahn. The literary scholar examines the border phenomenon from the point of view of women and Chicanos, or Mexican-Americans. The expert on US-Mexico border studies in film, culture and gender studies teaches at the Centro de Estudios Fronterizos del Norte de Mexiko in Tijuana and holds a junior professorship in Chicano/Chicana studies at San Diego State University.
